Hand coiled Jar with Geometric designs by Melissa C. Antonio of Acoma Pueblo. It has a band of alternating Kokopelli's and Butterflies. It has a scalloped rim as well! The painting on this jar is almost unbelievable. The fact that this is done by hand and the precision is truly amazing! Melissa paints with a yucca brush and all of her pottery is painted with all natural materials made from minerals and plants. Melissa is the daughter in law of Mildred Antonio and the daughter of Gilbert & Lillie Antonio. Please note that Melissa does both slip cast pottery and hand coiled. We only carry her hand coiled pieces which are more expensive due to the additional work involved.

It has traditional designs including bird, rain, clouds and water waves painted around the perimeter and a very nice orange blush color! The walls of Lydia's pottery are very thin which is the sign of an excellent potter. The symmetry is excellent! Lydia is the sister in law of Gloria Mahle. She was taught by her mother the late Stella Huma. She uses all natural vegetal and mineral paints and fires her pottery outdoors the traditional way. This is signed on the bottom with Lydia's hallmark Parrot symbol underneath her her name. She is Parrot Clan.
