Welcome to the 64th annual Heard Museum Guild Indian Fair & Market, March 5 and 6. We are delighted that the market will be in person at the museum. The Indian Fair & Market has always showcased the beauty and vitality of Indigenous creative expression from artists across Indian Country. The 2022 Indian Fair & Market will highlight the work of more than 650 artists.
Many artists will also enter the juried competition to vie for cash prizes and, more importantly, the enhanced reputation that comes with winning a coveted Heard ribbon. Thanks to generous donors we expect to reach our goal of $97,400 across 10 classifications, including an unprecedented $25,000 Best of Show award prize. This is the largest prize pool in fair history. Plan to join us on Friday evening, March 4, when the Best of Show winners will be announced in advance of the live Indian Fair & Market.
One of the new elements for 2022: We are excited to announce the addition of the Youth Artists Show & Sale (formerly the Student Art Show & Sale) to be held as part of the 64th Indian Fair & Market. The museum and guild are pleased to offer the increased resources of the fair to bring youth artwork to a wider audience. The Youth Artists Show & Sale invites American Indian students in grades 7 through 12 to submit their original artwork for display and sale. Students will have their art judged by a professional panel and compete for ribbons and cash prizes totaling $10,000.
Please join us as we celebrate the 64th annual Indian Fair & Market on the beautiful Heard Museum campus. Visit the fair website at www.heard.org/fair for the full schedule of events.
Sincerely,
