This year’s Native Spirit ArtWalk, part of the Scottsdale Gallery Association’s Gold Palette ArtWalks, will take place Thursday, March 3, from 6:30 to 9 p.m. in Scottsdale, Arizona. Collectors can make their way along Old Town Scottsdale’s Main Street between Scottsdale Road and Goldwater, as well as Marshall Way between Indian School and Fifth Avenue, for an evening of special activities and extended gallery hours.

“The Native Spirit ArtWalk is one of our most attended Gold Palette ArtWalks that we host each season,” says French Thompson, president of the Scottsdale Gallery Association. “We will have incredible Native artists on hand showcasing their work, live Native entertainment and much more. [The event is] not to be missed.”
A variety of top galleries, featuring some of the very best in contemporary and historic Native American artwork, will open their doors to collectors and Native art aficionados, including Territorial Indian Arts, King Galleries, River Trading Post, Faust Gallery, Waddell Gallery and Palace Jewelers at Legacy Gallery.

Among the treasures King Galleries brings are works in pottery by Les Namingha, Al QÖyawayma and Steve Lucas. “Native Spirit ArtWalk is a once-a-year opportunity to meet some of the top Native artists in person and see their new works. Many of the artists who show at the galleries don’t have a booth at the Heard Market, so it makes the ArtWalk even more special,” says King Galleries owner Charles S. King. “This year [should] be an extraordinary group of shows on Main Street!”

Palace Jewelers, which is part of Manitou Galleries in Santa Fe, New Mexico, will be showing fantastic jewelry art by Albert Lee and Wes Willie in a trunk show at Legacy Gallery. “With both artists in attendance, we will be featuring some of their most brilliant creations to date featuring very rare materials in one-of-a-kind creations,” says Tsali Hall, director of Palace Jewelers at Manitou Galleries.
