From September 17 through 20, the Reno Tahoe International Art Show returns to the Reno-Sparks Convention Center, marking the fifth edition of a contemporary art fair that continues to expand year after year, including in its Native American art offerings.
About a dozen tribes will be represented at the 2026 RTIA Show, primarily from the Western United States and with a special focus on the Great Basin tribes of Nevada.
Indigenous fashion shows are a highlight of the Native American programming of the RTIA Show.
“The First Nations, Indigenous Peoples feature has presented a little differently each year of the show, but going into year five, the feature has really grown into itself,” says Briana Dolan, chief operating officer of the show’s producer Peaks Art Fairs. “We have a balanced mix of mediums from 2D paintings to sculpture, ceramics, woven arts and wearable art including jewelry, hats and clothing. Returning exhibitors have built a collector base through the fair, and first-time artists are finding an interested and engaged audience here in Reno.”
Beyond the artwork, the show will also present a dynamic array of Native programming, including Indigenous fashion shows celebrating regional Indigenous artists and designers. Following the shows, attendees will have the opportunity to purchase pieces directly from the designers.

Among the exhibiting artists to look for are Ana Luisa Garica Mendez (Yaqui), who is known for her award-winning clay sculpture dolls and classical clay sculpture; Great Basin artists Melissa Melero-Moose and Loretta Burden; and returning exhibitors, Diné painters Ron Chee and Jerry Brown, and jeweler JJ Otero (Navajo (Diné)/Hopi).
“The Indigenous piece of the RTIA Show is not just a featured section, but a cornerstone of the fair’s identity, and has been since the inaugural show,” says Dolan. “By showcasing Native artists, storytellers, designers and cultural leaders, RTIA presents a more complete picture of the artistic heritage of the American West and the communities that have shaped this region for generations. The First Nation, Indigenous Peoples Pavilion adds depth, cultural relevance, and educational value while introducing audiences to extraordinary contemporary and traditional artistic practices from the region and beyond. It also reinforces RTIA’s commitment to being a welcoming, inclusive and community-centered event where diverse voices are celebrated within a world-class presentation.
