The annual Youth Art Show & Sale brings together talented young artists during the market.

Returning again to the Heard Museum Guild Indian Fair & Market is the annual Youth Art Show & Sale, which coincides with the March 7 and 8 market days in Phoenix. The popular event is a great location to discover the next generation of artists and add to a collection with mesmerizing art that is frequently on par with the adults at the full market.

“The Youth Art Show & Sale is a must-see for all visitors of the Indian Fair & Market,” the museum notes. “Young Native artists in grades seven through 12 across the U.S. have their work professionally judged, competing for ribbons and over $10,000 in prize money, including Best of Show and Best of Division awards. All artwork entered is displayed and available for sale in the Monte Vista Room of the Heard Museum.”

Last year’s winner was Aydrian Day (Ho-Chunk/Anishinaabe/Lakota), whose piece Hoocąk Manape featured exquisite beadwork on a hat and bag.

All of the work in the Youth Art Show & Sale is available to purchase during the market. —
