Welcome to the February/March issue of Native American Art magazine. In this issue, you will find 136 pages of inspirational art, much of it centered around the Heard Museum Guild Indian Market & Fair. As the official magazine of the fair, Native American Art is excited to bring the show to your fingertips before it actually takes place on March 7 and 8. Everything you need to start your collecting journey at this market is in these pages.
For those attending, we have included a map of the event marked with all the advertising artists inside these pages. These are the artists you want to see at the market. We have a QR code on Page 40 that will connect you to the entire map and directory on your phone. It is a great tool for navigating the 600-plus booths that will be at the market. Be sure to come by our booth and pick up hard copies of the magazine and the eight-page booth map and artist directory. You can also renew your subscription to the magazine and buy an official 2026 Heard Indian Fair & Market T-shirt. At the market, you will be able to meet the artists, learn about their traditions and techniques, and take home a piece that will forever connect you to this wonderful event.
This is their 68th year and our heart is full to celebrate this event with this issue. Executive editor Michael Clawson generally likes to focus on specific art genres in these pages. For this issue, that approach is impossible. We have to make room for it all: jewelry, pottery, two-dimensional art, pueblo carvings, sculpture, weavings and textiles, diverse art, basketry, youth art and so much more. This is what makes this issue special. It is an entire universe of Native American art in one issue. We hope to see you this year in Phoenix.

P.S. Our podcast, the American Art Collective, showcases many Heard artists. This time I recommend Episode 275 with Jody and Susan Folwell as a particularly interesting listen. This mother-daughter duo are two of the most respected potters in the country. In the episode they talk about their careers, material gathering and methods. It’s a fun one!
