A short walks from the Santa Fe Plaza, and in the heart of the action, is Faust Gallery’s new location in Santa Fe’s historic arts district on Marcy Street. The gallery’s annual Santa Fe Indian Market Show, which opens August 15 with a reception from 4 to 6 p.m., is the perfect opportunity to experience their new space and the impressive array of jewelry and art that Faust Gallery has built its reputation on.

Preston, Jesse and Bo Monongye, sterling silver and gold Long Hair kachina inlaid bracelet

This year’s show will highlight the next generation of Native American jewelers, including Robert Begay, Jarad Chavez, Isaac Dial and others; as well pieces by historic and well-established artists such as Charles Loloma, Sonwai, the Monongye family of jewelers, and many others.

One piece on offer is a three-generation collaboration by Preston Monongye, his son Jesse Monongye (1952-2024), and grandson Bo Monongye. The rare Long Hair Kachina bracelet, which honors the spirit of rain, harmony and renewal in Hopi tradition, features flowing hand-carved black jade hair, a 14k gold rattle that extends beyond the silver casting, and a traditional dancer’s kilt inlaid with turquoise, coral, shell and jet. The gallery notes, “Framed by vibrant inlay and two heart-line bears, symbols of life force and strength, this museum-quality piece embodies motion, symbolism, and the enduring spirit of generational artistry.”

Robert Begay (Navajo (Diné)), sterling silver tufa-cast bolo tie set with inlay

Sonwai (Hopi), 18K gold hand-fabricated stylized figure bolo tie set with coral, sugilite, lapis, turquoise, and fine-line gold bar accents

Another unique piece is a sterling silver bolo tie set by Navajo jeweler Robert Begay. Carrying on the legacy of his parents, Rebecca and Daryl Dean Begay, Robert also works in the traditional method of tufa casting, carving each design by hand into soft volcanic stone before pouring molten silver into the mold. “Robert’s work reflects the deep roots of Navajo silversmithing but also shows a clear voice of his own,” shares the gallery. “Now forging his own path as a silversmith, Robert brings forward the teachings of his parents while adding new ideas and energy to the tradition.”

Bo Monongye (Navajo (Diné)), Sleeping Beauty turquoise bead necklace with sterling silver pendant and gold and diamond accents

Renowned contemporary Hopi artist Sonwai (Verma Nequatewa) will be represented by a vibrant, stylized figure pendant and bolo tie. “She set the head with a single coral stone in a serrated bezel, and the figure’s body with coral, sugilite, lapis, turquoise and fine-line gold bar accents,” explains the gallery. It is currently displayed on a black leather bolo cord with 18k gold tips, with Sonwai’s classic gold dot accents. "When removed, the pendant pairs well with a leather cord, gold chain, or neckwire,” adds the gallery.

Charles Loloma (Hopi, 1921-1991), 18k gold ring with inlaid pink coral, Mediterranean coral, sugilite, fossilized ivory, and fine-line gold accent spacers wrapping around the entire gold frame
