Tanner’s Indian Arts

This stunning weaving, created around 1980, is now available at Tanner’s Indian Arts in Gallup, New Mexico. This 120-weft-per-inch masterpiece was homespun by celebrated Navajo weaver Julia Jumbo. All of the wool—in natural grays, blacks, whites and tans—has been home harvested, sheared, combed, carded and spun. This particular Two Grey Hills pattern is simplistic, elegant and traditional. This piece has previously been featured on exhibit at the Denver Museum of Natural History. It measures 26½ by 18½ inches.

Blue Rain Gallery

John Nieto’s 1991 ink-on-paper piece Black Hawk is now available at Blue Rain Gallery in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Nieto’s work, collected in many art circles, touched on the modern and abstract with his vibrant colors, exciting forms and mesmerizing subjects. Today his work is more comparable to Henri Matisse than other Western painters.
