Gathering Art and Culture

Native POP: People of the Plains returns to downtown Rapid City, Oklahoma, for its 8th year.

Back again this summer, Native POP: People of the Plains brings together the worlds of art, fashion, music and film by established and upcoming Great Plains artists. This annual juried art show and cultural celebration, currently celebrating its eighth year, features work from such visual artists as Angela Babby, Jennifer White, Charles Her Many Horses and Carlin Bear Don’t Walk, among many others. Cultural performances will be held throughout the two-day event as well. Attendees can immerse themselves in things like powwow drum, folk music, Native flute and spoken word, to name a few. Native POP: People of the Plains is set to take place July 9 and 10 in downtown Rapid City, Oklahoma. The fifth annual Film Showcase, which explores areas of regional and cultural interest, will be held July 10. For more information, visit www.nativepop.org
