The June/July issue of Native American Art magazine will be offering readers a special guide to collecting Native American Pottery. This time-honored form of functional art has been practiced on the continent for thousands of years, and still practiced today by artists all over the country, especially in the Pueblos of the Southwest, at places like Acoma, Santa Clara, San Ildefonso and Zuni. These works—often hand-coiled, made from Native clay and fired using traditional methods—are collected at every level, from small, affordable works made from up-and-coming artists to major pieces that are collected at the highest levels. Region Guide: Northwest Coast

Native American Art magazine is returning again to the Northwest Coast to highlight artists, museums, dealers and galleries that present work from this fascinating region. We last featured this region in the October/November 2019 issue, and the response we received then was astounding. The issue will once gain feature artwork from huge variety of cultures up and down the Northwest Coast: Tlingit, Yup’ik, Coast Salish, Haida, Tsimshian and many other. The area is known for its rich diversity of materials, including weavings, basketry, jewelry and carved objects, such as totem poles and pipes. Celebrate this beautiful region and its artists in the June/July issue.
